What a pre-save does

When a fan pre-saves, your song is automatically added to their library on release day — and that burst of day-one saves is an early signal to Spotify that people want your music. It also helps seed your Release Radar reach.

Two ways to set up a pre-save

Third-party smart links

Available to everyone, including new artists and for singles. Tools like DistroKid’s HyperFollow (free and created automatically for every DistroKid release) or services such as Feature.fm generate a pre-save link you can share anywhere. Most also collect fan email addresses and auto-follow your profile — a big bonus.

Spotify Countdown Pages

Spotify’s own pre-save feature, built right into the app. It’s more powerful but limited: it’s for albums and EPs only (not singles), and you need a minimum number of active listeners (Spotify currently sets this around 5,000 active listeners in the last 28 days — check your eligibility in Spotify for Artists). To set one up, go to Music → Upcoming, select your release and click Get started.
